Now we will look at a part of the energetic background in Yoga. I say a part because the topic is much larger, too large actually for just one blogpost.
However, the information shared here is solid, powerful and I feel privileged to share this knowledge.

Blueprint for immortality
In Yoga there is a phenomenon which is called the energetic body, consisting out of Prana, Chi or Qi.
It is an established fact that this energetic field exists and it has been made visible for everyone by a Russian man called Semyon Kirlian.
Semyon discovered that when an object, for instance a leaf, is being charged with an high voltage source the object’s energetic body can be seen and even photographed.

Now why is this interesting?
The Yogi’s are interested in Prana because it is said to be the very force of life, the so called spark which is the actual difference between life and death. In other words: “If you have no energetic body, you are dead.”
But even on levels less crude this energy influences our lifes. There is a direct connection between the size of your pranic body, your health and vitality… If you Pranic body is really large you can heal people.
Blueprint for immortality
What the Yogi’s discovered was that the energetic body functions as a blueprint for the physical body. We have a physical body thanks to the energetic body, not the other way around.
Your energetic body decides how the body behaves. The information of how tall you will grow and whether your nose is small or large is locked inside the energetic body.
If your pranic body is big and strong your body knows exactly how to behave and all bodily functions are performed perfectly.
In other words, if you have enough energy you can not get ill.
Quite a statement huh?
Science and the Pranic Body
Personally I find it great when science finds ways to proof what Yogi’s already (through practical experience) knew to be true.
Harold Saxton Burr
Harold Saxton Burr is an American Professor who wrote the book: “Blueprint for Immortality”. He used the Kirlian techniques (In his case a Voltmeter) and discovered that when a low level of L-field is found for instance at the level of the throat, the chances an illness will manifest there grow significantly.
He also discovered that the energetic fields of an organism can be molded and controlled resulting in changes in development, health and mood.
Wim Hof, who is also known as the Iceman, clearly shows in scientific research conducted by the Radboud University that he can control his autonomic nervous system. Via breathing exercises he lowers his flammatory marks, the cause of many illnesses.
How to increase your energetic body
Since your energetic body seems to be of such importance you might want to find out how you can get more of it..
The good news is that Prana is everywhere! It can be collected via sunlight, raw food, social interaction, Yoga and many other ways. Also via mindset you can retain and gain these subtle energies.
One of the most effective and direct ways is via Pranayama (breathing exercises in Yoga). These exercises are so powerful that they allow you to control your autonomic nervous system.
