Dear Yogi friend,
I pee when I have to? This must be the most ridiculous subject any of my blogposts ever had..
But be assured, there is more to it than just my sanitary needs.
Just a few weeks ago I had a so called Aha erlebnis, it’s German for a moment of insight in which you suddenly can see clearly how things relate. It’s like suddenly you grasp something you might have already thought of before but now you really seem to understand.
This magical moment occurred right after I had a Shiatsu massage. I love Shiatsu because it doesn’t just work on the body and on your energy levels. In this form of massage there is clear understanding of where the meridians of your organs flow. So the Shiatsu therapist can actually feel how your inner organs are doing and support their function.
My inner organs are all pretty much okey.. Except for the blather, there was way too much tension on the blather meridian. “How can this happen”, I asked and the masseuse answered: “Well, it’s probably that you don’t relax enough..”
I left for home and her comment struck a snare. I realized that I often don’t take the time to pee, even though I can clearly feel the need to. And then I saw that there are many more body signals I ignore like shoulder aches etc. And then I saw how restless I become from all these ignored bodily signals. It’s not that I don’t FEEL them, I choose to IGNORE them!!!!
So what to do? Well I’ve made the agreement with myself that whenever I feel the need to pee I do this straight away. I am applying this strategy in other fields as well, and I must say it is working out well. I feel a lot more relaxed and seem to have more time, energy and space for meditation or whatever…
There is wisdom inside us far greater than any concept or idea can ever give. It’s the wisdom of our body, of the world, of manifestation. This wisdom is always there telling you what you need right now in this moment..
So from now on… I pee when I have to…
Listening to what your body needs is related to Muladhara Chakra, your root chakra. Sometimes forgotten when it comes down to spirituality. A famous quote in Yoga is: “Keep your head in the Sky and your feet firmly planted in the soil..”
Which signals are you ignoring? A simple insight can do so much…
